Hey! Hiya. Yo. Oi. What’s up?
Still figuring out the greeting thing… and those are all the ways I would say hi if you were sitting here with me, so I’m using them all for now.
I’m glad you’re here! I’m glad you’re interested in solo traveling (or any traveling) for women!
And I’m glad you’re reading this.
If you are, it may be because you’re looking for something to read on the train (or toilet). Or you’re looking for some advice for your next trip. Or you’re daydreaming about what it would be like to travel somewhere -anywhere- other than where you are now.
Let me be clear- I like to travel. Like, a lot.
I also used to travel regularly internationally and domestically for work. But- that was work- so it wasn’t always fun. But, as it turns out, it served a purpose.
Work trips abroad for me often meant last-minute international flights in the middle seat at the back of the plane, living in questionable hotels for weeks at a time, surviving on packaged food, sleep deprivation, and monumental amounts of stress.
Not exactly the luxurious adventures you’d imagine, but I like to think I made the best of it.
And I saw A LOT.
Now I travel for me– for the simple purpose of satisfying my endless desire to see it all- to encounter everything the world has to offer and experience cultures that are unlike my own.
Along the way, I’ve picked up a tip and trick or two (or twenty) for how to make even the most horrific travel experiences survivable- I daresay bearable – even pleasant?
Recently, it struck me that surely someone out there could benefit from my unique travel survival tactics– a place where all of my “how-to’s” , “always make sure you’s” , and “let me tell you about that time when’s” are gathered in one place for the good of Earth’s other travelers.
I’ve had a stack of experiences (some bad. some marvelous) to teach me how to travel the world like a boss bisch and I think it’s time I share them with you.
Solo travel (or any travel) for women can be a scary thing. It can also be an incredible, empowering, enlightening experience.
The world is a big, wide wonderful place.
There is so much to see, to explore, to experience, and I plan on doing as much of it as I can during my time on this little rock floating in space.
So, follow along!
I’ll tell you about all of it- how to make the most of the best and make the best of the worst.
